The club’s premiere event is the New Balance Delaware Open Cross Country Championships. These races are held the Saturday morning after Thanksgiving at Brandywine Creek State Park. This event is arguably the most competitive open running event in the state of Delaware. Cash prizes are awarded to winners of age beyond academic eligibility. Other winners receive trophies and gift certificates. The races consist of the following events:
- 1.1 mile Boys
- 1.1 mile Girls
- 5 km Women’s Open and Masters (scored separately, run concurrently)
- 5 km Men’s Masters
- 5 km Men’s Open
Our 2008 races will be held on Saturday morning, November 29.   Registration for the 2008 race is now open.  You can download a copy of the registration form

Net proceeds from this event fund two $1500 college scholarships.   Details on the scholarships can be found via this
link.   The DRC also organizes the
Fall Fling to help support the scholarship fund.
